Welcome to Studo! This guide will help you get started with your study tracking journey. Studo is designed to help you build consistent study habits and track your progress over time.
What is Studo?
Studo is a minimalist study tracking application that helps you:
- Track your study sessions with timers and countdowns
- Log your study activities with notes and images
- Visualize your progress with a GitHub-style heatmap
- Build consistent study habits and streaks
Choosing Your Version
Studo comes in two versions:
Free Version
Perfect for getting started with study tracking. Includes unlimited timer & countdown, session logging with notes, and all data stored locally in your browser.
Pro Version
Advanced features including Pomodoro timers, goal setting, blurting technique, active recall flashcards, detailed analytics, and cloud backup.
Your First Study Session
Step 1: Start a Timer
Click the "Start" button on the Free or Pro version to begin your first study session. You can choose between:
- Timer Mode: Count up from zero to track how long you study
- Countdown Mode: Set a specific time and count down to zero
- Pomodoro Mode: (Pro only) 25-minute focused work sessions with breaks
Step 2: Add Session Details
After your study session, you can add:
- Notes about what you studied
- Images or links to resources (Pro version supports multiple images)
- Tags to categorize your study topics
Step 3: View Your Progress
Check your heatmap to see your study patterns. The heatmap shows your study activity over the last year, with darker colors indicating more study time.
Tips for Success
- Start Small: Begin with short 15-25 minute sessions
- Be Consistent: Try to study at the same time each day
- Use Notes: Document what you learned to reinforce retention
- Review Regularly: Check your heatmap weekly to see your progress
Pro Tip
If you're using the Pro version, set up goals to track specific learning objectives and use the blurting technique to capture what you've learned immediately after study sessions.
